About Blue Lark.

Who We Work With

Who Blue Lark is for.

Blue Lark builds search-ready WordPress websites for UK businesses, with ready-made and Standard sites live in 14 working days. If you’ve spent any time researching small business web design UK, you’ll know how rare a straight answer is in this market, so we built Blue Lark to be the easy answer.

Time-poor business owners

Blue Lark is built for time-poor business owners. Micro-businesses, local trades, and established SMEs who need a proper website and don’t have weeks to lose getting one. You know your trade. You don’t need us to give you a lecture on brand essence.

A website that earns enquiries

Someone landing on it should understand what you do within a few seconds. From there, they need a reason to believe you’re worth their time, and an obvious way to get in touch. Most sites fall down on at least one of those, usually the last one, which is the difference between a website that brings in real work and an expensive online brochure.

No jargon required

It doesn’t matter if you’re tech-savvy with a deep understanding of SEO, AEO, GEO, and every other buzz word in the digital marketing space or if you’re a CEO who doesn’t know their SEO from their Ee-I-Oh. That’s what we’re here for, to bin off the jargon and build you a site that is quick, engaging, and brings conversions.

One of the most important things in understanding your business is not just who you are, but who you’re not. We’re not a creative agency or a brand studio. We build websites that bring in enquiries, and then we keep them working.

Why We Exist

Why Blue Lark exists.

The usual agency experience

Most businesses have sat through a long agency project at some point. There's a discovery phase that bills by the hour whilst nothing actually gets built, then a quote that started vague and then somehow doubled by launch. There’s plenty of talk about brand and very little about whether the website will bring in any work. You can sit through a month of revision calls and end up with a logo you were never that fussed about.

Built to strip that out

We agree what we're building and then build it to a fixed timeline, so you end up with a website that does its job rather than a project that goes from 90 days to 6 months and onwards. The DIY platforms take the opposite route and engage you with cheap pricing whilst handing all the homework and delivery back to you.

Our business is making sure your business is always showcasing that it's the best option to any new client.

How to choose a web design company

The best answer is the simplest one. Look at what you actually get, and how long it takes to get it. Plenty of the best small business web design agencies do excellent work and charge accordingly, with timelines to match and that suits some businesses. If you'd rather not wait two months and spend the budget of a small car, Blue Lark is built for you.

The cheapest web design package rarely brings in the work, and the most expensive is rarely worth the premium. A good-looking website that nobody finds, or that loads slowly and falls apart on a phone, is just an expense with a nice font and colour palette.

The Work

What Blue Lark actually does.

Website building

The core of the work is website building for local businesses, built on WordPress and ready for search from the first day. We use WordPress because it’s reliable and it stays yours. You’re not renting your own website back from a platform you’ll come to resent.

Secure hosting and maintenance

Secure website hosting protects your uptime because a site that’s down is a shop with its shutters pulled halfway down on a busy Saturday. Ongoing website maintenance keeps the forms working and the software current, so enquiries keep landing in your inbox instead of vanishing without trace.

The 14-Day Model

Why the 14-day model matters.

A discipline, not a gimmick

Our fixed timelines are a discipline. Standard sites take 14 working days and Plus takes 30 to 45. It forces clear decisions and stops a project drifting for months whilst your current site is costing you enquiries. Most delays in web design have nothing to do with building anything, but come down to the indecision and the revision calls that loop without ever landing on a decision. Think Groundhog Day, but with a lot less Bill Murray and a lot more your business stagnating.

It keeps everyone honest

Working to a week keeps everyone honest with you included. You get a live, search-ready website whilst it still matters to your business, rather than a quarter later when the moment has passed.

When the clock starts

The 14 working days start when we have what we need from you. Once the plan is agreed and your content is in, the timeline is ours to deliver. See exactly how the five-stage process works on the How It Works page.

The People Behind It

Why a small business owner should trust Blue Lark.

Blue Lark is run from Cambridgeshire, with specialist developers and SEO experts brought in for each project. You’ll deal with people who build your site and know what Google and AI tools like ChatGPT look for before they rank a page.

Behind our brand sits many combined decades in B2B sales, website work, frontline SEO work, and more GTM strategies than we can count. Selling for a living teaches you how buyers really make decisions, and what makes them hesitate rather than act. Most websites are built by designers. Yours will be guided by people who’ve spent a career working out why people buy, and that shapes the way we write and structure every page.

This is where compounding gains come in, the idea the whole business is built around. A website is rarely won in one big swing. It’s won by small improvements that stack up over time, like a sharper headline or a page that finally earns its ranking. None of them move the needle alone. Compounding over months, they turn a quiet website into one that consistently brings in work.
