Brand Identity & Packaging

Marlow & Finch

Marlow & Finch came to us as an independent food producer with a strong product and no clear identity to match it. We led a full brand strategy process before touching a single visual element — working out what the brand actually stood for, and who it needed to speak to.

The result was a confident, considered identity system carried through packaging, point-of-sale and their website — built to last well beyond the next trend cycle.

Packaging Design

Otterbourne Coffee Roasters

Otterbourne needed packaging that could hold its own on a crowded specialty coffee shelf, without leaning on the rustic-craft clichés the category defaults to. We developed a distinctive colourway system per roast profile, hand-tested against real shelf conditions before a single unit went to print.

Structural prototyping happened in-house, iterated by hand until the fold, seal and shelf-stand were all exactly right.

Website Design

The Bristol Loaf

The Bristol Loaf needed a website that did justice to the bakery itself — considered, warm, and fast enough that people could actually find opening times and order ahead without a fight. We commissioned original photography rather than relying on existing shots, then built the site around it.

The result is a lean, editorial site that loads fast and reads like the bakery feels in person.

Fernwood Studio team collaborating on brand identity and website design for Hartley & Rowe, a Bristol joinery and furniture maker

Brand Identity & Web Design

Hartley & Rowe

Hartley & Rowe make furniture built to outlast trends by decades — their brand needed to say the same thing. We built an identity and website that let the craftsmanship do the talking: considered typography, generous space, and photography-led pages that don't rush the visitor.

Enquiries for bespoke commissions rose within the first month of launch.
